It's a more rhetorical than a philosophical text, though I thought it was a nice read... I posted it on mbticentral, but didn't get much replies. And because our 'articles' section is a bit slowgoing, I thought "why not submit it at my homebase?" ;)

Interesting enough... yet perhaps there should be a mention of some sort to a difference between data accumulation and whatever "skill" a polymath genius have, that enables him to structure the approach to whatever field he's working in (I think here in Aristotle and his categorization of several species, or in Leibniz and his proposals on logic and combinatorics) Whenever something is a lot of work, folks are bound to look for reasons why it isn't worth the effort. - Clark Glymour |
